The first wine and cigar workshop was held at the Center for Food Culture
We held the first in a series of El Macondo cigar workshops – an evening in which time intentionally slowed down.
The workshop opened with a simple but powerful thought: true luxury is the rhythm of life. Thinking clearly. Sleeping deeply. Moving slowly. Living quietly. Cigars, he says, provide just that – a moment when time stands still and everything comes into focus.
In the world of cigars, each one has its own story, its own scent, its own little ritual. It’s a world that lasts longer than you expect. And the participants of this first workshop had the opportunity to step into it in a way that is rarely offered: by tasting top-quality boutique cigars that Tonči, as the director and co-founder of El Macondo Cigars d.o.o., personally imports and distributes in Croatia.
We held a workshop in an intimate, focused atmosphere, focused on concrete knowledge, experience and ritual. The participants learned all the key basics: how to properly cut and light a cigar, how to recognize aromatic layers and what it actually means to “enjoy” a cigar without rushing.
We paired the cigars with red wine and dark chocolate, creating a rhapsody of flavors that further emphasized the complexity of the boutique labels.
At the end of the evening, everyone took home a cigar – a small gift for their own special occasion. Because a cigar is always a moment that is chosen.
This was the first workshop in a series, and we are already preparing the next one. If you like moments when the world becomes quiet and time slows down – we will be happy to host you again.
